In the Season's Embrace: a Journey Through Grief

I wanted to offer a Poem for my Blog today. A poem to honor those who have had a pregnancy related loss and are facing the holiday season. This time of year can be very challenging for some. Remember that those around us may appear to be OK, but often are coping with significant tragedy and heartache.

In the quiet of grief and the winter's cold,

I face the holiday season, stories untold,

A mix of emotions within my soul,

As I navigate a loss, making me feel less whole.

Happy memories of what could have been,

A future imagined, now lost in the wind,

But a shadow of sorrow, it lingers near,

The pain of a loss that's too hard to bear.

The carols play on, the lights softly glow,

Yet I find myself lost in the ebb and flow,

For amid the festivities and holiday cheer,

I carry a heartache, a silent tear.

The gifts, once intended, now tucked away,

In this bittersweet season, I find my way,

Through the tangle of feelings, a complex brew,

Holding onto hope while mourning you.

I'll seek support, a friend's gentle ear,

To navigate grief, the pain and the fear,

With their help, I'll find my way through,

To a holiday season that honors you.

In this mix of emotions, I'll make my stand,

With love in my heart for the one I had planned,

For the holiday season is a complex song,

A blend of emotions where my love is strong.
